Facade Restoration & Repair | Park Laurel | Manhattan | 2002

Structural concrete with brick cladding and cast stone detailing

The Park Laurel is a forty-story residential tower located in the Upper West Side-Central Park West Historic District. The tower is a 2002 addition which sits atop the New York City YMCA, originally constructed between 1928-1930. The project began with achieving Local Law 11 compliance and, due to several unsafe conditions, has expanded to large-scale maintenance and repair work throughout the building. Despite the recent construction of the tower, it is exhibiting building-wide failures resulting in unsafe conditions and interior leaks.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2013 and will continue through the 2014 construction season.
